Larvae feed within decaying logs. Adults take tree sap and juices from decomposing fruit. [2]
Males use the head and thoracic horns during contests with other males. [2]
An analysis of 42 males found two scaling patterns: head horns lengthened steeply with prothorax width in short-horned males and more slowly in long-horned males. [3]
Keep the enclosure closed and display it in indirect light, away from heat and damp conditions. Handle the frame by its edges and clean only its exterior according to the maker’s instructions.
