Goetia 1904
Scot’s Amy appears as fire before taking human form, teaches astrology and the liberal sciences, and reveals treasure guarded by spirits. He assigns thirty-six legions and a former order partly of Angels and partly of Powers. The Goetia adds Avnas as a name and retains the principal offices and count. [2][1]
The earlier account gives Amy a hope of returning to the seventh throne after 1,200 years, then calls the hope incredible. That concluding judgement is absent from the Goetia’s brief description. In Scot, learned service and treasure discovery are accompanied by the spirit’s own hoped-for change of place; the later passage concentrates on the appearance and the work attributed to him. [2][1]
