The manuscript context
Delatte places twenty-four seals at folio 31 of Harley 5596. The preceding Greek passage describes writing seals with names on prepared skin and carrying them at the chest. Garments, abstinence and entry into the circle also form part of this preparation. [1]
Delatte’s comparison
Note 16 directs the reader to pages 19–20, where Delatte prints the drawings associated with Athens MS 115. That reference gives the two Greek groups a documented editorial connection. It supports comparison of their collective setting; the individual pairing of designs cannot be read from the reference alone. [1]
