Purpose in the text
The fifth Sun pentacle invokes spirits for rapid passage from one place to another over a great distance. Its transportation office stands between the revelation of spirits in the fourth design and the bearer’s concealment in the sixth. [1]
The diagram and its inscriptions
Nested circles and a square carry character-shaped inscriptions within a surrounding verse. The editor assigns the characters to the Passing of the River alphabet and cites Psalm 91:11–12. [1]
Reading the design
The Passing of the River characters occupy a framework of square and circles. Psalm 91:11–12 speaks of angels keeping a person’s ways and bearing that person in their hands. The rim supplies an image of being carried, lending a scriptural form to the notice’s promise of swift movement. [1]
