Goetia 1904
Scot’s Saleos is a great earl, described as a gallant soldier riding a crocodile and wearing a duke’s crown. His short notice ends by calling the appearance peaceable. The 1904 Goetia titles Sallos a duke and adds thirty legions and the office of causing love between women and men. [2][1]
The shared crocodile, soldier and ducal crown make the correspondence clear, while the rank and extent of the account differ. The crown in the earlier appearance is ducal even though the accompanying title is earl; the later entry brings the title into agreement with that ducal equipment. [2][1]
