Goetia 1904
Scot’s Zagan converts water to wine, wine to water, blood to wine and wine to blood. The Goetia lists the first three of those changes. Both describe a gryphon-winged bull followed by a human form, thirty-three legions and the conversion of metals into coin belonging to their dominion. [2][1]
Zagan makes fools wise and people witty while changing metals and liquids. His metalworking has a specified result: coin belonging to the metal’s dominion, a form of recognised currency. Wine, water and blood undergo their separately named exchanges, setting changes in substance beside the conferral of wit and wisdom. [2][1]
