Setting cities, castles and great places on fire, making people witty, and answering private matters. [1]
Goetia 1904
Scot’s Aym, also called Haborim, carries a burning firebrand while riding a viper. His three heads are a serpent, a man bearing two star-shaped marks, and a cat. In the 1904 Goetia the third head is a calf and the two stars are placed on the human forehead. [2][1]
The firebrand accompanies the burning of cities and castles in both accounts, which assign twenty-six legions, wit and answers about private matters. Nicholson also examines the star-shaped marks as a difficulty in the older Latin wording. Their interpretation requires a separate textual explanation from the clear change of the third head from cat to calf. [2][1][3]
